Standing Up for Nature

With the help of this project, an intervention on two levels can be achieved: youth workers from partner NGOs will have their environmental literacy skills developed, whereas the ability of the NGOs to design and appropriate initiatives on the topic will also increase.  For this matter, we seek to make a long term community investment, stimulating the youth workers to become ambassadors for green causes in their communities. The partners of the project designed the following objectives:

• To create a comprehensive study mapping perception of youth on sustainable development 
• To increase the environmental literacy skills of 24 youth workers (8 per partner country) during a 4 day training course
• To stimulate a positive attitude and raise awareness among the 90 people (30 per country) towards sustainable development and protecting the environment
• To increase the capacity of developing workshops on sustainable development and environmental literacy at local level for the 3 participating organizations

The outcomes and results of the project Standing Up for Nature are:

• 1 study mapping the perception of youth on sustainable development at local level in the 3 participating countries 
• 24 youth workers (8 per country) receiving 1 workshop focused on environmental literacy & sustainable development skills 
• 6 local events involving 180 people (60 per country) focused on the environmental issues occuring in each local community
• 180 people (60 per country) gaining a positive attitude towards and being informed about sustainable development
•  15000 viewers of the outputs of the project reached through online dissemination
