Discover the highlights of the recent FUTUREU project event – Conference on the Future of Europe to increase EU citizens participation, Event number 2, held at the Municipal Youth Center in the heart of Bucharest. Mr. Daniel Enachescu kicked off the day, welcoming participants to the project’s inaugural event, followed by a presentation from Mrs. Anamaria Moisa on the workings of the European citizens’ initiative. Learn about the intricate process of turning initiatives into reality and how young people can take a leading role within the European framework.
The day continued with a visit to the European Parliament Information Bureau (House of Europe), where participants engaged in a dialogue with representatives, exploring local European initiatives and understanding how young individuals can contribute at a local level. Representatives from the National Union of Romanian Students also added their insights during the seminar.
In the afternoon, discussions shifted back to the Municipal Youth Center, where local initiatives promoting citizens’ participation, including the Bucharest citizen initiatives fair, were explored. Mr. Daniel Enachescu shed light on the main characteristics and functionalities of these initiatives in the context of Bucharest’s local reality.
On September 9, 2022, an online connection was established with the Spanish team to discuss the project’s progress and future steps. A dynamic workshop allowed partners to share examples of their local activities promoting citizens’ participation. The day concluded with collaborative efforts on a common infographic showcasing best practices in civic participation across the municipalities involved in the event
